Amaravati, May 15: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Saturday dismissed the petition filed by Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju, the YSRCP legislator from Narsapur in West Godavari district, seeking bail in the ‘sedition’ case filed by the state crime investigation department (CID) of the police on Friday.
The High Court, which took up a house motion petition filed by Raju on Friday night, heard the arguments of his lawyer and the counsel of the CID, before dismissing the bail petition.
The High Court directed Raju to first file his bail petition in the lower court dealing with the CID cases and move the High Court only if the lower court failed to ensure justice.
The CID officials have planned to produce Raju in Sixth Court of Guntur and remand him in judicial custody for two weeks. Krishnam Raju can move the bail petition in the same court, opine legal experts.
